Layout of the foils on a ship






Generally ships are considered:

. standard when more than 65% of their weight is supported by the front foil(s),
. duck when more than 65% of their weight is supported by the back foil(s),
. tandem when the weight is uniformly distributed betweenthe front and the back foils.
